AEM Short Ram intake systems are an economical alternative to our Cold Air systems and deliver performance, value and ease of installation over any other short inlet intake. Our Short Ram intakes install easily under the hood and cost less because we use less material to manufacture them. During the development process, we found certain applications respond favorably to shorter inlet lengths over our longer Cold Air designs. For these applications (denoted in the search results page), we offer a Short Ram system only. We perform extensive temperature testing to locate the filter in the coolest area of the engine compartment, which allows our Short Ram systems to achieve the lowest inlet temperatures possible. Creat Intake With OK Fit
I bought this intake for my 2001 Honda Civic EX because the K&N version rubbed against the hood. After working with both brands intakes for my car I feel i got a good read on both items. K&N's fit snug and seated perfectly but the top of the intake was too high thus rubbing on the underside of my hood. I sent that back and bought this one. The finish color is awesome and looks great. Everything fit ok but it wasn't as clean a fit as the K&N. Everything ran perfect once installed though. It's a great looking intake and performs well. Just know that it doesn't fit as spot on as others.

Install was a cinch and it produces a nice deep throaty sound when throttling, accommodated by the sound of the filter "hissing" which is the airflow.
