Excellent addition to my bag
I read the reviews here complaining about the weight not being supported but I have had no issue so far. I use a Pentax K200D with a battery pack and while I have not used my biggest lens "in the field" with this, I have tested it and once I got it balanced, it did fine. Im not sure I would try hanging it off the side of my car with a huge lens on but I feel more than comfortable with my lighter lenses. If you are familiar with the Gorillapod concept there is nothing new about this one other than being bigger and having a ball head. The legs are big enough to wrap around a normal railing/post you would find in most touristy places. Bigger than a stop sign pole but smaller than a street light pole.Attaching it to strange places is much easier due to the quick release on the ball head. You can position the pod, slide the camera in, test the load and then either adjust or start shooting. My ball head is quite stiff to the point that if it has been unused...

Light, portable, but not a 'real' Tripod
Bought this for a trip to China. Weight and size were a consideration, but I knew I wanted some kind of stable platform for low-light/night shots.Gorillapod filled the bill. Bought it with the BH1 ball head, and strongly suggest some kind of adjustable 'head' as screwing the camera onto the g'pod alone gives very restricted movement.Used the G'pod extensively in the 'TerraCotta Warrior' exhibit in Xi'an. Almost perfect. Attached my Nikon D90 with a medium zoom. Wrapped the flex-legs around the guard rail and shot some very low exposures. Worked well. Attaching the 70-300mm zoom caused some 'creep' unless the lens/camera combo was almost level. Still, that's a lot of weight for so small a ball-head, and should be expected.Night shots along the seawall in Shanghai and Hong Kong were perfect. DO use a self timer or remote release, as this isn't the most stable of platforms. That said, there aren't many tripods which will curl up in your camera bag. Took it to several...

Excellent ballhead for any tripod
This ballhead is made by Joby and marketed for Joby's line of Gorillapod tripods. I bought it for use with my Gorillapod SLR-Zoom, but this also works very well with other tripods. It is crafted out of metal and has a good bit of heft to it. Definitely doesn't have a cheap feel. Supports my 20D well. It is rated only for about 6 lbs. so watch how large of a lens you use with it.

Does what it says!
This product should be stock with the GP3 Zoom model. This completes the gorillapod and makes it much more flexible to use. I would also recommend it for other ballhead needs as the price point and quality make it very attractive. It performed well; placed on the ballhead and Gorillapod Zoom was my Canon 20D, battery grip, and 28-135 zoom lens with no problems.

Great ball head for ANY tripod!
I own a Velbon Carbon Fiber tripod and I instantly shaved a pound or more off that system by removing the large 3-way magnesium head and replacing it with this little gem. Ball heads are already popular tripod heads for their small size and easy maneuverability, but they typically cost a lot more than this Joby.Pros:- price point may seem high for small tripods but this is a bargain compared to name brand quality equipment used on large tripods by photo enthusiasts.- Feature rich including the quick release plate and bubble-leveler.- Works as advertised.Cons:- the coin screw attachment on the quick release plate is not easy to attach quickly unlike other systems.- only rated for 6 lbs but this is reasonable for the price range.- Even for cameras under the 6 lb rating, positioning will sag a bit after locking. This is a common problem for heads as high as $200, but the Joby sag is less than many more expensive heads.-...

Flexible Accessory for Travel Photog
When traveling, less is more. This is especially true for the serious photo enthusiast. When I travel, I want to carry as little as possible. However, I also want to have at hand everything I need to deal with the variety of situations I might encounter. In other words, my equipment choices need to be relatively compact, lightweight and flexible. I don't want to carry multiple single-purpose items. Instead, I look for single multi-purpose items. That said, the Gorillapod is ideal. It's clever design and lightweight materials make it easy to carry and useful for a variety of photo situations. The SLR-Zoom Gorillapod is sturdy enough to support my Nikon D200 with 18mm-200mm Nikor zoom lens, and at the same time compact and light enough to attach to my camera bag with a hook and loop strap. All 'n all, a clever, useful and travel-friendly photo accessory.

The Gorillapod SLR-Zoom* is our new heavy-duty version, designed with the serious photographer in mind. It attaches to SLRs (with zoom lenses!), video cameras, and your own tripod head, and can support a whopping 6.6 pounds (3kg)! Top to learn more

The Joby GP3-01EN Gorillapod SLR-Zoom makes taking digital photos more fun than ever. Designed with the serious photographer in mind, the Gorillapod lets you mount your camera or video camera just about anywhere you want so that you can increase your creative options. All you need to do is use the universal 1/4-20 screw or your own tripod head to attach your camera to the standard tripod mount, then wrap the three flexible segmented legs securely to a nearby tree branch, fence, park bench, or anything else that's convenient. Say goodbye to looking for ways to stabilize your handheld shots or to get that unique perspective--now you can be free to shoot however you like!

Durable and innovative, the Gorillapod weighs just 8.5 ounces, or 241 grams, and can support cameras--such as DSLRs with zoom lensea and video cameras--weighing up to 6.6 pounds, or 3 kilograms. Measuring just 9.8 inches in length, the Gorillapod fits easily into a purse, backpack, or even a roomy jacket pocket. Top to learn more

Caution: you get full use only with a light dSLR
This version of the Gorillapod is supposed to hold up to a 6.3lb combination of lens and camera but... it doesn't. If you use it as a regular tabletop tripod, the top knuckles buckle under a medium weight dSLR (Canon 50D or 5D) equipped with a solid lens. It would probably hold a lighter camera and mostly-plastic "kit lens" -- a Canon 500, 1000 or XT series or a Nikon D40 or D60 series.Even then, it's a very springy platform and it will vibrate to the slightest touch, so if you're in a low light situation and need to use a stable platform, you'll need to use a cable release or use the 10-second delayed release timer. (Two seconds is too short a time -- the Gorillapod vibrates for longer than that if you exert enough pressure to trip the shutter. There are two places where where I can use it with a mid-weight dSLR: (1) when I wrap the legs around, say, the top rail of a chair, or a two to three inch thick tree branch and get the platform close to the...

A clear improvement over the already excellent D700
I know that the D800 is not really the replacement model over the D700. Nevertheless, it did replace my old D700 and the D800 is, I believe, better suited for my photographic needs than the D700, i.e., studio, portraits, and landscape. The D700 was and still is an outstanding DSLR. The D800 is of course better, but in a very perceptible way, which was quite a surprise to me.I have done over 5000 shots since my purchase on 24 March. So far, no issues to report: no green cast from the LCD and no problems with the CLS system.Nikon has really outperformed with this new DSLR and the clear improvements are:- Much improved Dynamic Range, which was my main problem since my first DSLR- Better colors straight off the camera: deeper and richer- Better AF in low light- Highly detailed photographs at full res, 100% magnification and also when down-scaling the photos.Let's not forget a proper and useable HD video feature at broadcasting...

Unbiased Review of 5DmkIII vs D800
I'm a Sony shooter with only a few lenses. I use to shoot Canon during the film days. I tested both the Canon 5D mkIII and the Nikon D800 and here are my results. I tested a 5DmkIII with a 24-70 f2.8 lens and a Nikon D800 (not D800e) with a 24-70 f2.8 lens.High ISO:About the same, except D800 has a lot more detail to work with. In Lightroom, I can save a higher percentage of ISO 6400 shots because the D800 has more detail. Canon seems cleaner initially in Lightroom but when the picture fits into a 24" 1920x1080 monitor or a 64" Samsung plasma TV, the Nikon looks a tad cleaner, noise less noticeable. I think the Canon looks cleaner in Lightroom because it is just a smaller picture. But displaying ISO 6400 shots on a monitor or TV, Nikon looks nicer in general. Both cameras at ISO 12,800 look awful and not recoverable in Lightroom. It might look acceptable as a really small pic but why the heck would you buy an expensive camera to display crappy looking pictures...

Best in Class
I received this camera on Amazon's first shipment and I have had one month to really test it before I offered my opinion. See that my purchase is verified by Amazon. I am a professional photographer and I have years of experience shooting Canon, Nikon, Fuji, and Mamiya. I have also had a little experience with Hasselblad's H4D-40. They are all excellent tools that are capable of creating amazing images. They all have their pros and cons, in the end, it is what one is most comfortable with that counts.Resolution: Beautiful detail, just make sure that your lenses are up to the task. I use only top-tier gear and I have no experience with consumer lenses on the D800, but I assume that the 28-300mm's of the world will not look good at 100% view, but I am sure that they will print fine up to 8x12.Dynamic Range: Incredible, when shooting in lower ISO's it is near impossible to ruin a photo. It trounced my D3/D700, no contest. Do an internet search for:...

Glad I bought, but . . .
It's easy to reach the Gorillapod's 6.5 lb weight limit. My 40D plus a zoom lens like the 38-135mm, or larger, plus a Speedlite 580EX II and a wireless receiver and I'm at or over the limit. Plus, good luck on the Gorillapod's (small) ball head holding the camera in portrait orientation (sideways) without drift. It holds somewhat better in portrait orientation without the Speedlite and with a lighter lens like the 50mm. Somewhat.Works fine in landscape orientation (normal camera position) on relatively level surfaces. But when wrapping the legs around an angled object, you're back to depending on the (small) ball head to keep the camera level -- which again is difficult to do without drift when trying for portrait orientation. So far I've not found the Gorillapod as practical or versatile as I'd hoped and imagined. So I've used it far less than I anticipated. I've heard exactly the same reactions from a friend who bought his Gorillapod a week before I did...

Zeikos ZE-CA48B Camera Bag ... Roomy and Zippers are A-Okay
Customer Video Review Length:: 1:32 MinsThis Zeikos ZE-CA48B camera bag is roomy. There's room for an average-size camera and lenses (but not for lenses that are too long). Check the measurements (the "product dimensions") for this bag and calculate your needs accordingly for your particular camera and if you have extra lenses for your camera. I could put my Canon Powershot S2 camera in the bag and, since I don't have any extra lenses, I could also put my Flip camcorder and my other relatively smaller older Canon Powershot A60 camera in the bag. This bag would be too big for only one simple point-and-shot camera unless if you also have a lot of other accessories to put in the bag along with the camera. There are two side compartments that could be used to store extra batteries, cables, and other doodads. There is a net-mesh pocket on the outside-back of the bag and also on the outside of one of the side compartments. The zippers are okay and seem fine to me. Another review here...

Unbeatable Value for Money!
At ten dollars, this camera is great value for money. It is as good, if not better than, fifty dollar camera bag from Canon. I use it for video camera Canon HV-20. The Zeikos bag has 2 adjustable compartments, and I use one for charger and one for the camera. Most other bags, including Canon, have just one big compartment where it is hard to squeeze in camera and the charger. Two zippered side pockets can be used for mini DV tapes, remote and memory cards but are too small for extra battery. The back pocket can also be used for thin objects like memory card, manual etc. Construction appears sturdy but padding could be thicker. Shoulder strap and handle work well. Overall, excellent value for money.

Great Little Camera Bag!
I purchased this camera bag for my Canon Powershot SX20IS Digital Camera with 20x zoom. It fits nicely in the bag, along with the lens hood, battery charger and extra batteries in a separate zippered compartment. Very compact, yet plenty of room for the camera and extras. Two small side compartments that have no way to secure so are basically worthless for anything of value. Has a belt loop, handle, and shoulder strap. The camera case might be a little too bulky to loop through your belt. I have returned 2 other bags that did not fit my camera well before I found this little gem.
