Decent for the Price
For the price this is great. Its only $[...] bucks. If your shooting on a flat surface then this will make your films, or commercials like so professional. This dolly can make your indie films look like it was shot on a high budget. The only downside is that the wheels are small, or since there is no flat rail, when you put it on a sidewalk or carpet the shot is not steady. That is the only con to this product. So if you are shooting only on a flat surface(not concrete) then this is great to get nice dolly shots. Top to learn more
Really good despite missing a piece
Just got mine in the mail today, have to say it's really incredible. However, be warned, for whatever reason I only received two of the pieces which bind you tripod on the dolly, the third leg i have to wrap with dock tape... Pico Dolly is Cool, not Cheesy
Just received my Pico Dolly, and it is great. The parts are nicely machined and assembled, and the carry bag is a really appreciated touch. Hate to admit it, but the more gear I buy, the more important bags become. Video gear is used on location, so equipment that does not travel well is not very useful. It always helps when the manufacturer provides a custom bag because something exactly right always beats something improvised.The iPhone clip supplied is also very clever. When I saw the picture, the nearest thing I could think of are the hair clips girls use, but this thing is much more robust and seems built to last, unlike the brittle plastic hair clips I have seen. Not to mention this clip is obviously purpose made, because it has a metal threaded insert specifically to be screwed to the supplied friction arm.All in all, this is a clever device and shows excellent attention to detail in design and manufacture.BTW - I was curious if the flashy...

Good Dolly, But I recommend one DYI upgrade...
I have spent a lot of time looking for a simple and easily portable dolly. Tiffen, Opteka, and Ravelli all make affordable dollies but they all lacked one option any camera operator needs for a dolly, pneumatic wheels. I was impressed by a product called the "Orbit Dolly" but the price is ridiculously high (starting at $1700). The "Orbit Dolly" is the only dolly I found that had a pneumatic wheel option, and it's an extra $300 option at that. That is way to expensive for such a cheap to manufacture part. So I set out to buy an affordable dolly and add my own pneumatic wheels.There are two main differences between this dolly and the "Orbit Dolly". First, the "Orbit Dolly" has interchangeable wheels. You can switch the wheels from a hard acyclic to a soft pneumatic rubber for use on both hard and Carpeted surfaces. Second, the "Orbit Dolly" can be calibrated to move in a circle or arc around the subject your are shooting. Those are both nice features but hardly with the... Top to learn more

A well-priced inventive dolly solution!
So you say you want to get those follow shots, trucking shots without zooming, or Hitchcock zooms but simply do not have the money for a professional dolly? This is your solution! It's cheap, fits almost any tripod (excluding tripods with really large footprints unless you don't fully open the legs), rolls easily over hard surfaces and carpet alike, and even has brakes on the wheels for steady shots. I think this is such a cool little setup, and the shot options it can give your video for such a low price really makes it worth while. I personally have one large heavy tripod for still shots and a medium lighter tripod that I leave attached to the dolly (the dolly will add stability to a less well built tripod), and I find it really gives me lots of possible options. If you are even considering dolly shots in your pictures at some point and time but wrote them off as impossible or simply decided to freehand them, buy this and you'll find a cheap option to make those shots professionally... I am a graduate student studying film. This swivel works great. It has great smooth wheels that show no bumps. It is great for transportation and storage because it came with an awesome carry bag. Usually just the bags cost a lot but not this time. It isn't very heavy compared to others i have worked with and is made out of a durable anodize aluminum allow. My first dolly.
I was going to buy a homemade dolly or try to make one, but I saw this and thought not a bad price and good reviews. Glad I did. Looks more professional on shoots, my raveling tripod fit and the clamps are tight. I will by the $270 12 foot track but for now I use some wooden blocks, weight bags and PVC Pipe. I wish it came with instructions on how to add the wheels, but I figured it out and had to add some lubrication to the wheels. But nothing more than that. It works great... Top to learn more

Enjoy Smooth Sliding
I recently bought this Opteka GLD-200 23" Camera Track Slider Video Stabilization System I love it.I use it all the time.I read the other review regarding the jitter,and put a little grease the same I use for my sliding glass door the only grease I had handy (Except for the LARD in the kitchen)and it worked great.I keep it in the car, it works great on the beach and for 4th of July fireworks and parade.I store it with my tripod in its case ( if you dont have a case get one) and it has become an essential item for me(as will for you.)Will be purchasing the longer one Soon Top to learn more

smooth as butter
Regardless of the cheap price and the fact that I've never heard of this company, I decided to give it a chance anyway because I would save so much money over buying a glidetrack. Currently mounted on my manfrotto 055xprob and 498rc2 and it's solid. I just used some 3 in 1 oil (just a tiny bit) and it made the track smooth and quiet. I don't use the feet much because this is mostly mounted on my tripod 95% of the time. 5 stars from me because of the fantastic price point and ease of use Top to learn more

Useable, but limited
First, check out this video I made, using nothing but this Opteka 23" slider: [...]I was able to get decent results even from the short "slide" on this thing. You just have to learn to angle your camera well to get the maximum possible slide effect otherwise you'll barely get any "slide" at all.The build quality: off top I can tell that this isn't made for heavier DSLR's like my . From the video I posted you might say it worked out, but in actuality there were some slide shots that were unusable because of tons of friction hop/bump that I kept getting from the camera being too heavy and from the slider rail not being lubed enough. Yes, I lubed my slider with some synthetic lubrication stuff and it's something I suggest EVERYONE who has this... Top to learn more

I bought the X-Grip for camcorder use. It was shipped fast and arrived in perfect condition. I appreciate the simple, uncluttered, straightforward design which was executed with quality materials. Attaching it to the camcorder is swift and easy, and the X-Grip can even be attached to a tripod or other mount when operating the camcorder. The heavy-duty accessory shoe can be detached. The grip of the unit is heavily padded and comfortable to use. Small built-in 'loops' at the top and bottom of the mount can be used to attach additional accessories via zip-ties or other field expedients. New filmmakers who haven’t been in the business past this last decade have an almost unlimited amount of options to get the camera from point A to point B. There were a handful of should mount rigs, reason being that most cameras already had... Shots I used to use a Mathews doorway dolly for in the past, I now do with a Kessler Crane Shuttle Pod System or K-Pod Dolly with flexi track. We used to have bigger cameras, heavy dollies, camera cranes etc that required a large crew to man and rig. Cameras like the Aaton XTR Prod, Arri SR2, and others had magazines that extended that balanced out the weight of a lens and matte box on the front of the camera. Cameras film and video had a much different form factor of the cameras of today. Because cameras have changed so much we have access to tools to help move the camera in ways we never could before. Cameras also had Arri Rosettes so you could attach handles to the camera body. Laying down heavy steel track, unloading the Fisher dolly off the truck, etc required more than two people and required a lot of space. Setting up a tracking shot in an small apartment for example wasn’t doable unless you built a pipe dolly or your own contraption to make it happen. For the most part you couldn’t rent a Steadicam rig as no one dire hired and the rigs were significantly bigger and heavier (since pro cameras were 15-65lbs). Even a doorway dolly took up at least 3 feet of space and could barely move through a doorway. Setting up dolly track was a long and tedious process.
A ball head camera mount can be attached to the main chassis for better control, while a customized monopod fixes the height of the setup between 20 and 65 inches (50-165 cm). The Revolve-monopod combo also functions as a handheld camera... We've seen a similar portable dolly system in the past with the Pico Flex Dolly , but the Revolve stands apart for its polish and versatility. The wheels themselves are made of a soft material and fitted with high-quality ball bearings to ensure the dolly glides as easily as possible. The kit provides two blocks with clamps and four guide rods that fit onto the bottom of the dolly to keep it steady.
