Very Happy With This Printer
I was looking for a wireless printer and this one is perfect for we wanted. The actual networking was easy to set up - in fact the only thing I had any trouble with was putting in the ink cartridges - simply because I hadn't turned the printer on to allow the printer cartridge cradle to move into position. It prints amazing photos and I am really surprised at the quality of them. I have 3 computers using this printer and no problems on any of them.

Nice printer--love the iPhone print program!!
I took a BUNCH of photos for this review...they are uploaded above. (There are pix of the packaging, the accessories, the printer, the set up, the software, the iPhone app and various screens, and the finished documents.) CLICK ON VIEW AND SHARE RELATED IMAGESWhen I first got this to review, I was thinking, "Oh, golly, another printer???" I have three already (that I have deemed worthy enough to keep) and I didn't need another one. I figured this meant I could give a pretty darned honest review. If anything, I'm really hard to please.First, this thing is big. I know, it has to be, to have the scanner and all, but it is tall and relatively cumbersome to move.It was difficult to remove from the box. I had to flip it upside down and carefully lift the box off of the printer. Don't let it tip over.Once out, there is a TON of tape on this thing. Just when you think you've gotten all of the protective film, tape, and cardboard squares...

Great Machine - Costly Cartridges
What a great machine for the price! It has a color flatbed scanner/OCR document reader and prints color pages plus photos. Tons of features in one small piece of office equipment. It installed very easily and went wireless quickly once it went through set-up using the USB cable (provided). To keep it wireless, you can remove the USB cable since it is only temporary for set-up. Printing pictures was very easy and they are beautiful - rich colors, very crisp images.Scanning is easy too and offers images to be jpegs, PDFs or OCR (taking a typed document and changing it to editable text). The only issue I had is that in searching for replacement cartridges - there are two, black and color, they are not only a little difficult to find but expensive at that. Canon direct only had the XL versions available for $49.99 (double pack - one of each). Currently, Staples, Office Max, and Costco do not carry the cartridges. Amazon carries them from a reseller (plus...

I love this lens...small, great focal range, very sharp!
I had the first version of this lens which I like very much -- and much to surprise, this much smaller, much lighter, but higher quality lens from Tamron is even better!....The photos are sharp across the entire focal range (better than the Nikon 18-200) with a much better focal range. It is significantly smaller than the original, and the new motor is fast. Most surprising, it even focuses faster in lower light situations. The new internal motor clearly works well. This can pretty much stay on your camera all the time. It's great for walk-around; it's light an non-intrusive; and the shots are sharp and clear. I love this lens.

Couldn't be more pleased
I enjoy photography but am not a professional. I look forward to a professional review of this lens to examine the fine details, but regardless of how that turns out there is no doubt this will be the lens on my camera 90% of the time. The size, weight, range and build quality will simply allow me to take my camera more places and allow me to frame more pictures.I also own 20mm 1.8 and 50mm 1.8 primes and a normal zoom Tamron 17-50 2.8 VC. The 18-270mm PZD certainly won't replace the need for a good low-light indoor or portrait lens, but frankly I no longer see the need for the 17-50 VC. With recent DSLRs achieving good results (even dynamic range) at ISO3200 and even ISO6400 with raw post-processing, even a slower lens like this can get solid results (certainly up to 8x10). I do see a bit of barrel distortion when fully wide, but again that is fully corrected in post.I take all my photos in raw and run everything batch through DXO - this workflow yields...

Product Description

Tamron's next generation 18-270mm, the world's lightest, smallest 15x zoom optimized for use on APS-C- DSLRs, continues the pursuit of the ideal all-in one zoom lens. Combining prior award-winning achievements with new engineering breakthroughs yielded the remarkable 18-270mm F/3.5-6.3 Di II VC PZD (Piezo Drive). Special piezoelectric technology now delivers faster, quieter precision autofocusing. Tamron's exclusive tri-axial VC (Vibration Compensation) image stabilization, featuring three pairs of driving coils and low-function ball bearings placed around the VC optical group, combats camera shake-related image blur. It's Tamron VC that allows handheld shooting at as many as four shutter speeds slower than otherwise possible with a dramatically stable viewfinder experience. Compactness and light weight are preserved, thanks in part to the VC mechanism's newly-developed moving coil mechanism. Defining compositional freedom the 18-270mm Di-II VC's incredible 15x zoom range provides a 35mm picture angle equivalency of 28mm to 419mm, with image fidelity assured by advanced optical design featuring LD glass and aspherical optics, working in concert to render crisp, colorful and faithful images.Di-II lenses are performance-engineered expressly for digital SLR cameras with image sensors commonly referred to as APS-C, measuring approximately 24mm x 16mm. Finally an "all in one lens"??? YES, BUT......
....Versatility never comes without cost:GENERAL+ First impression when mounted to my t2i was "wow". I could hardly believe how small this thing really is considering it's zoom range! It's also very light (only a tiny little bit heavier than a Tamron 17-50 2.8!) You can carry it around easily and my t2i felt very well balanced with it. - A good start+ the lens comes with a lens hood (you see Canon!?) and with a 5 years warranty. That's quite a package, even though the lens hood (being suitable for all offered focal lengths) cannot really help when you are zoomed in to the max.BUILT QUALITY+- the lens is manufactured in China. Quality appearance is ok, but nothing to rave aboutIMAGE QUALITYResolution+- considering it's enormous range, I was surprised how sharp this lens can get. Resolution is not the reason why I finally opted against the product. It never really gets razor sharp, but at least at most focal...

An Exceptional Lens
After reading the reviews, I don't know if I would have purchased this lens. More than likely I would have gotten the Sony 11-18 f/4.5-5.6 as I believe, or at least I did at the time, that it takes sharper pictures. But, my wife, who loves me dearly, got me this lens for my birthday. I could have returned it, but since I had it, what the heck.I've read that there is some distortion on straight lines if you shoot very close. I suppose that means like you see in those lens tests where they shoot a brick wall from a couple feet away and show you how those straight lines bend a bit. I don't shoot like that. I use this lens to take indoor shots and for landscapes and for me, it really delivers. I've read reviews that said this lens is very soft when used wide open. Those reviewers used this lens on other camera bodies, Canon and Nikon. Either I got an exceptional copy or my Sony Alpha magically sharpens the pictures, because my shots are fine and plenty sharp.I've...

SP AF10-24mm F/3.5-4.5 Di II Features

Di II
Tamron SP AF60mm F/2 Di II
Portrait macro shot
Lenses are designed for exclusive use on digital cameras with smaller-size imagers and inherit all of the benefits of our Di products. These lenses are not designed for conventional cameras and digital cameras with image sensors larger than 24mm x 16mm.

Super Performance (SP) for Discriminating Shooters
Tamron SP (Super Performance) series is a line of ultra-high-performance lenses designed and manufactured to the exacting specifications demanded by professionals and others who require the highest possible image quality. In creating SP lenses Tamron’s optical designers put their foremost priority on achieving superior performance parameters—they are all designed to a higher standard with little regard for cost constraints. As a result, Tamron lenses bearing the SP designation feature impressive and innovative designs that have established an enviable reputation for excellence among those knowledgeable photographers that demand the very best.

Internal Focus (IF)
Internal focusing (IF) provides numerous practical benefits to photographers including a non-rotating front filter ring that facilitates the positioning of polarizing and graduated filters, and more predictable handling because the lens length does not change during focusing. Even more important, Tamron's Internal Focusing (IF) system provides a much closer minimum focusing distance (MFD) throughout its entire focusing range. In addition, IF improves optical performance by minimizing illumination loss at the corners of the image field, and helps to suppress other aberrations that become more troublesome at different focusing positions.

Tamron SP AF60mm F/2 Di II
Low Dispersion (LD) Glass for Greater Lens Sharpness
Low Dispersion (LD)
Low dispersion (LD) glass elements in a lens help reduce chromatic aberration; the tendency of light of different colors to come to different points of focus at the image plane. Chromatic aberration reduces the sharpness of an image, but glass with an extremely lowdispersion index, has less of a tendency to separate (defract) a ray of light into a rainbow of colors. This characteristic allows the lens designer to effectively compensate for chromatic aberration at the center of the field (on axis), a particular problem at long focal lengths (the telephoto end of the zoom range), and for lateral chromatic aberration (towards the edges of the field) that often occurs at short focal lengths (the wide-angle end of the zoom range.)

Aspherical Elements (ASL) Provide the Ultimate in Image Quality and Compactness)
Tamron uses several hybrid aspherical lens elements in many lenses bearing the Aspherical designation. These innovative optics allow us to achieve the ultimate in image quality, and at the same time produce lenses that offer remarkable zoom ranges in extraordinarily compact packages. By perfecting theses cutting-edge advances for series production, Tamron has advanced the state of optical design, and virtually eliminated spherical aberration and image distortion from the high-power-zoom series.Through the effective application of Hybrid Aspherical Technology, one lens elemen tcan take the place of multiple elements without compromising performance. This is what allows us to produce remarkably compact long-range lenses that deliver a uniformly high level of image quality at all focal lengths and apertures.

A Good Performer especially in this zoom range
I acquired this lens to provide me with an ultra-wide zoom for landscapes and indoors uses. I do not routinely shoot in this focal length range, so I was hesitant about spending so much on the Canon 10-22mm, although the Canon 10-22mm is by all accounts, fantastic. I have had very positive experiences with Tamron in the past, and decided to give this lens a try over the Sigma equivalent. Cosmetically, the lens is very lightweight but feels solid in the hands, and the zoom ring takes some getting used to as it rotates in the opposite direction as Canon brand lenses. The finish on the lens is very nice and the included lens hood fits nicely, but provides only minimal protection to the front element. This is understandable since this lens is an ultra-wide zoom, and larger lens hoods would cause vignetting and shadowing problems. The lens hood does a nice job of protecting from lens flare issues. The lens extends only a small amount when zooming. Performance wise, the lens is...

Useful focal range but it's not very sharp
I bought whis lens to give it a try to Tamron after reading several reviews and comparing against the Sigma and Tokina. I use it with a Rebel XTI (400D) and a complementation of a 24-105L. I like it, construction is good, distortion very well controlled, cromatic aberrations is just ok, sharpness is just ok on the center but regular to bad on the corners, even at f5.6, f8 or f16. I did some home test with some friends that own Canon 10-22 and Sigma 10-20. I believe that Canon is the best choice between these three options. Second place to Sigma (sharp a little better)I don't mention tokina because a have not try it.Conclusion: It's ok but it is not impressive to say "WOW!!!!".

An Extraordinarily Sharp Lens!
I'm a pure Canon lens user for the past 3.5 years. Currently using EOS 40D. This is my very first third party lens & initially was quite skeptical. After thinking it over, I went ahead to give it a try because I can't afford the Canon EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 IS USM.After playing with the new Tamron lens for almost two weeks, here's some of my 2 cent comments:Good News first (wow so many don't know where to begin):-Great optical performance! All photos taken are really sharp.-Accurate, consider fast and consistent autofocus.-Zoom ring isn't cramped or stiff, easy to turn (opposite direction of Canon lens).-Surprisingly at 17mm I hardly can see any barrel distortion!-I can't detect any chromatic aberration & Vignette problem. All photos look clean & accurate. But it doesn't mean they are not there. Maybe I need to get my eyes checked. :-)-Nice weight (lighter than my Canon 24-105L) & feel, will be my new walkaround lens...

Product Description

The new SP 17-50mm F/2.8 XR Di II VC covers the very popular 17-50mm focal length range (equivalent to 26-78mm in the full-frame 35mm format) making it extremely versatile. Its wide aperture and outstanding performance provide practical advantages in low-light shooting and aesthetic image control, thereby enriching the user's range of creative expression. The new lens delivers impressive sharpness and striking contrast over its entire focal-length and aperture range, and at its maximum aperture of f/2.8 it produces beautiful images enhanced by shallow depth of- field, and smooth, natural transitions in out-of-focus areas of the image (i.e. excellent bokeh.) The new lens is equipped with Tamron's proprietary Vibration Compensation (VC) image stabilization mechanism, which controls the effects of camera shake in three planes. VC provides more opportunities for sharp hand-held photography at the slow shutter speeds needed when shooting in low-light conditions (e.g. night or indoor scenes) dramatically enhancing the user's level of photographic freedom. Great lens for the price
I received this lens a few days ago and immediately started using it. The lens came with a lens hood and caps only, no carrying pouch. The lens is slightly bigger and bulkier than my 18-70 Nikkor that it is replacing. It feels great in the hands and in the camera, I can feel the quality. The lens focused accurately and speedily. I can't comment on its speed versus the non VC version, but its faster than my 18-70 Nikkor (as it should since its $300 more expensive). It locked on in low light pretty good too, something I had trouble with in my 18-70. I tested the VC out and found that the VC has a delay of about a second before taking effect. You will notice the effect because the viewfinder will have a slight jerking motion before taking effect. The VC worked quite well though, taking sharp pics most of the time (if done properly) down to 1/8th second. This lens is TACK SHARP, even at F2.8 it is very sharp. The zoom ring comes with a zoom creep lock that works at 17mm, but...

A very good lens with some shortcomings that you may be able to live with.
The title of my review pretty much sums it up. The two major features of this lens are its constant aperture of f2.8 at all focal lengths, and the new VC (anti-shake) feature. The previous version of this lens was superb, but lacked stabilization, so the VC is a welcome feature.Design/BuildIt's a very well built lens with a metal mount. Its not pro-quality, but definitely better than any kit lens I've owned. I'd give it a solid 4 out of 5 stars for build quality and design. It's quite a bit thicker than the previous version, but not much heavier. It looks huge on my D80, but its not too heavy so it works well and balances perfect on a D300.VCThe vibration compensation works very well. It works just as effective as any Nikon VR lens I've owned. No complaints on the effectiveness of the VC system. Some people reported it as loud when the VC motor kicks in, but I found it to be acceptable. Not as quiet as the Nikon VR2 system, but definitely...
