Small, Convenient, Works Great!!
The Canon BJC-85 is a small, lightweight printer that is easy to pack and works wonderfully well. It has both parallel and USB connections for PC's or MAC's. The quality of the black text printing is very good - especially when you consider the small size and light weight of this printer. The color printing is also amazingly good. The software loads easily, and I had mine up and running in a matter of minutes attached to my laptop. You'll need to buy either a parallel or USB cable, since it isn't included. Canon has the best reputation, by far, of all the brands who make portable printers and this is their newest model. This is really a terrific little printer that is well worth the price for people on the road who need to print from their laptops.

Just what I was looking for..
This printer is a convenient size for someone with limited desk space or for taking it with you when traveling. The battery pak mentioned that can be used with this printer is available through DELL. It may take a bit of searching to find it. Click on Printers, then look for the Canon BJC-85, then click on more details under the printer icon, then related products on the next screen. It does not state for BJC-85 but it is the correct battery pack or ask Dell for reassurance, I did! I have been very pleased with the print quality of such a small printer, even the graphics are great. For Word Processing that requires mostly black ink, use the large BCI-10 Ink Cartridge it is better than the small black tank you use with color printing. I have not been able to locate the Infrared Driver for it does anyone know where that can be acquired? I am more than pleased with this quality and size of this printer.

Looking for this for a long time
Needed a printer for my notebook PC while on vacation. This was just what I needed. With USB was an easy setup, no special drivers required, just "plug-n-play". Slow printing, but good quality. Small footprint, easy to carry. Even fits in my notebook case.

BJC 85, Still the best
I'm very pleased with my recent purchase of this printer. The canon BJC 85 may seem outdated by some of the more modern portables, but, in my experience, this is still the absolute best and most reliable portable to carry. The print speed is slow by modern standard, but , in my opinion, that is outweighed by the ease of operation, very light weight, and inexpensive and easily refillable ink tanks. It's still the smallest and lightest full function portable available.The fact that it is is a Plug-and Play with Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7 is a HUGE plus in my opinion. No CD to fumble with or loose. Nothing to download. And the USB connectivity makes it a snap. Just plug it into the computer and it's installed. Nothing could be simpler.Sadly, finding that the scanner feature is not compatible with VISTA and 7 is a let down, but if someone runs XP, having the ability to buy a scanner cartridge and convert the printer to a portable scanner is very...

Good quality for so little!
I wasn't too sure if these would work...so many 'off brands' don't. But my printer is out of warranty so I figured I'd try. They work great, so far. The print doesn't bleed, and my printer responds well to each request for print. I've had problems in the past with other printers not 'liking' generic cartridges. They're an extra good value and good quality, too.

Just what I needed
This product was just what I needed. The cartridges were easy to find and inexpensive even for ten of them. The places I have found them are either wrong or priced alot more for one cartridge than what Amazon wanted for the ten of them. They even came sooner than expected.

Excellent printer - Here is info on bluetooth adapter; case.
We bought this little gem to take to Europe. First impressions are very favorable. It's small, reliable, and prints beautifully. At just over four pounds, it's perfect for travel.The little Bluetooth adaptor also works very well. Reading the manual (!), I discovered it is possible to mount the adapter permanently inside the printer so that it's not exposed and doesn't need attachment every time it is used. This is a simple procedure, and enhances the usefulness of the Bluetooth capability that is all but de rigueur when traveling. The installation / setup information is also in the electronic manual that comes on the CD.But as good as the printer is, it does not come with (nor does Canon offer) a case of any kind. I found the perfect solution - from Case-Mate: go to http://www.case-[...] and buy the 'Glovez 15"' sleeve (like a large envelope with a velcro closure / flap). It comes in an assortment of colors and is a skin-tight (but very workable) fit...

Not just a travel toy
Bought this to use while traveling, but once I set it up in an inconspicuous spot in the living room (where I spend way too much time with the laptop), I've been using it all the time. Haven't printed photos, but for letters, Web page copies, even maps, quality matches my Epson printers. It's at least as fast as any other home printer I've had. (But yes, it does spit out the pages from the table onto the floor; I attribute that to where I have it placed, and I don't care. I don't have to go upstairs to the desktop printer anymore.)I use a Mac, which comes with Bluetooth, and bought the adaptor. So no cables, just the print command from the across the room, and I'm in business. I can access all the printer functions, including printer utilities, using Bluetooth -- which I can't with my Epson, which is networked through my Airport router.Pricey, perhaps, but I've already taken this with me on a long weekend and was happy to be able to print out something I...

Good Price, Short Lifespan
I have purchased this item in the past for my printer and found while the price was resonable, the quality good, the lifespan really wasn't; The cartridges didn't last very long. I went through three of them just writing three or four papers last year. Suggestions for keeping the cartridge from drying up/running out so quickly would be a good addition.

Almost 30 cents a page to print an estimate that will probably average at least 3-4 pages each is throwing money away, especially if you have to print a copy for the body shop, customer and file also. Low output per cartridge, even the high capacity one, is likely to stall your mobile office to where you end up having to park in the local Staples or Office Depot parking lot just to stay supplied. That is basically $3 an estimate just to print if all 3 need a copy. For quick down & dirty one time printing, it may be ok but no as an everyday mobile office printer. I have to print automobile damage estimates from my vehicle also(mobile office).
