Does the 7D beat full frame cameras?
No, but it's so good that one starts to contemplate this question, which was never the case before the 7D was introduced. Both systems, crop and full frame, have their pros and cons and place in photography. But before I get into that let me say I have not been as excited about a camera since the introduction of the 5D MK I four years ago. That's because the 7D raises the crop camera bar to the point where crop users will not feel at a disadvantage to full frame camera users, especially if coupled with awesome ef-s lenses such as the 17-55 f2.8.How so? The 7D sets a new standard in four major ways.1. It produces whopping 18MP pictures, which are just 3MP shy of the current top of the line full frame Canon cameras. Just few years ago most pros were producing stellar results using the 1Ds MKII 16MP camera. Now you have more MPs in a crop sensor, that's a major achievement. This achievement translates into bigger prints and, perhaps more importantly, cropping...

Canon EOS 7D
Well after much deliberation between this and a 5d Mark II i decided to opt for the 7D and spend the extra I save on some nice wide angle lenses. First of all for anyone who is expecting a 1.6 crop camera's image quality to be better than the 5d mark ii you can forget it. The 5D mark ii is a full frame sensor camera and the 7D is a crop, different cameras for different purposes. I know three people who own a 5d mark II, wedding photographer, cinematographer and a landscape photographer. As you can tell, they all need wide angle and good low light performance. The 5D Mark II/other full frame cameras are targeted towards users with wide angle needs. So if you find yourself in a crowded room with little light during a wedding the EOS 7D may not be for you, less you put on a 10-22mm EFS lens which is the widest Canon Zoom Lens for a APS-C camera. A seriously capable and enjoyable camera.
The Canon EOS 7D is Canon's new semi-pro / enthusiast digital SLR and competes primarily with Nikon's recently updated D300s. It's a terrific SLR that shines in photo quality, control placement, speed, and viewfinder size and coverage.First, let me tell you a little about myself so you can gauge what my expectations for the camera are. I'm strictly a hobbyist photographer and use my camera a couple of times a month at museums, outdoor parks, and vacations. Besides photos of my dog, my photography consists primarily of static subjects. This is my second SLR.Enough of me, onto the camera. The 7D is a fairly bulky SLR and dwarfs "entry level" models such as the Olympus E-510 (see my photos), though it's no bigger than Nikon's D300s. With that said, it's not uncomfortably large and is easy enough to carry around all day. Build quality is terrific and the camera has a solid, luxury feel to it. The 7D fits very well into my average sized hands and, with the...

Canon EOS 7D review
We recently purchased a Canon EOS 7D to upgrade from the camera my wife had been using. We have found the camera to be everything we expected. It is somewhat heavy and a bit harder for her to handle, especially when using a large lens, but the images are very sharp and the colors vibrant. The lens that came with the camera kit (28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM) is good, but not outstanding. It produces good images with vivid color, but does not yield the razor sharp images the L series lenses give. Fortunately we have some L series lenses, and used with the EOS 7D, the images are truly beautiful. We find the auto-focus to be good, but not as effective in some conditions as manual focus. For example, when shooting birds in trees the auto focus often results in soft or even fuzzy images. Apparently the camera focuses on something other than the target object when in complex environments like that. That is not a surprise, and we simply switch to manual focus under those conditions...

The EOS 7D features a magnesium alloy body that is dust- and weather-resistant and shutter durability of up to 150,000 cycles.
Canon EF 28-135mm standard zoom lens: delivers sharp, natural-looking pictures virtually ever time. The lens is particularly handy for places where flashes are prohibited, as it excels in dim lighting without requiring a flash or a tripod. Other features include a ring-type USM for swift, silent autofocusing and full-time manual focusing; a close focusing distance of 20 inches; and a maximum aperture of f/3.5 to 5.6. Ultrasonic Motor for fast, silent autofocus.

Pleased with Camera..not kit
After finding the camera and lens that I wanted. I thought it was great to get a 'Canon kit' also but having it arrive the kit was a very poor quality no brand. My bag clip has already broken and the charger was not even compatible with Australia. The tripod was also cheap and nasty and does not hold the wait of my camera being made of very brittle plastic. I was very dissapointed being lead to believe it was all Canon. Also the 'universal' card reader included in the 'deluxe' kit does not even fit the card that the camera uses which is what it was meant for. My camera is great!

informal test results for this 400x card indicate...this baby is fast!
If you need a fast high capacity CF card at a reasonable price, Transcend's 32GB (Blue) card is a good choice. This 400X card has a maximum read speed of 90MB/sec, and more importantly a write speed of 60MB/sec.Shooting photos at maximum quality (saving both JPEG and RAW files), I was looking for a faster card for my Canon 7D an 18 megapixel digital SLR. The results using this card are excellent. The 7D has a burst rate of 8 frames per second, and the camera's buffer is large enough, so that you can easily shoot a 10 or 15 shot burst, without the camera locking up. Of course it takes some time for the camera to write to the card after such a burst, so I did a quick comparison using the Transcend 400x card, a Kingston 266x card, and a Transcend 133x card. I took a 10 shot burst, and then measured the time between the last shot and when the frame counter in the display stopped blinking, roughly indicating that data had finished writing to the card. The results of this...

Works well with Canon 5D Mk II
The performance seems to match or exceed the requirements of Canon 5D Mk II and does not cause any problem while taking pictures or shooting HD video. Most demanding picture format on 5D Mk II is RAW + JPEG (Fine+Large), and 32GB card can usually hold more than 900 of those.

Canon D7

Canon seems to like to record in. mov format (which is an Apple format, Quicktime) so hence Canon = Mac. Thank you for watching, I appreciate it. =). Well I will tell you right now the D5100 can do a lot… with cameras like the D5100 and Canon T2i, I don’t think you really need. Yeah I had to actually upgrade my computer to be able to process the AVCHD video format… some heavy duty shit for sure and my old computer hated me for using that format… hence the upgrade to my PC not too long ago. and a short one… I’ll make an attempt at the short one. Then you have Canon’s main competitor being Nikon (in many people’s opinions) and the direct competitor…. I had the older Canon XTi and I recently sold it for a very good.
