Home Crafter/designer on a budget!
Excellent product. The perfect low-cost craft & vinyl cutter that's easy to use and affordable. Plus it has some unfriendly software to boot. It only took me 1/2 hour to get up and running and cutting. I've used it to cut adhesive labels, 80lb Cover Stock, Oracal Vinyl and it does it all with aplomb. And it works as well on the PC as it does a MAC.

Gives Cricut a run for its money
I got this for my wife and she hasnt stopped scrapbooking in seven days. It does take a little time to find the graphic or font you want online but it is better than having to sort through cartridges at 50$ a pop to get the font you want. Its small and light weight so my wife can move to work in whichever room she likes whether she wants to watch TV while she is working or playing with the kids which is nice. It has definately been worth the money so far

She is extremely pleased with this cutter. For $280 this machine really cannot be beat.The software that comes with the Cameo is top notch. Letting you use all of your own fonts and import your own clipart and photos. There is even a online store that lets you purchase designs for $.99. And they give you a $10 gift card for the store in the box as well. If you can use your "Print Screen" button on the computer and a simple photo editor, the possibilites are endless even without purchasing designs from the store.The speed and level of detail this machine can cut is very impressive. SILHOUETTE CAMEO IS AWESOME
I have had my Cameo for almost a month and love it! It was so easy to learn how to use and every cut has been perfect. Great deals on their website to buy only the shapes you want and freebies too!! Never owned a Cricut didn't want to buy cartridges just for certain shapes - now I have my own library of shapes. You can buy replacement mats, blades etc. at Michaels!!! What a wonderful machines - again so easy to use and so many other ways to enhance your projects!!!!!

Guilty Pleasure? Yes, but worth it! AWESOME TOOL!
This is the best item I've EVER purchased for scrapbooking. I purchased it at a scrapbooking convention in San Diego and immediately felt guilty about the $75 price tag. Once I sat down to scrapbook using it, though, the guilt was gone!It's so easy to use. You can make ANYTHING a sticker with ease. Pictures, die cuts, memorabilia, etc. If it's flat, it can be slid through the Xyron 900 and turned into a sticker. No more messy glue! It is mechanical, but not electric. You slide a cartridge in, place your picture (or whatever you want to make sticky) on one side, turn the crank and it comes out the other side as a sticker. SIMPLE! No mess, no fuss, no little removable parts to lose.The only downside at all is that the cartridges can be pricey. I buy mine from my local Michaels ALWAYS using a 40%-50% off coupon. So, that really helps, otherwise you are looking at $30-$35 each. BUT, other adhesives can be expensive, too. I haven't attempted to see which...

If I could, I would change my rating to 3 stars instead of 5.I've owned this item for over three years now.Pros:The variety of things you can do with this machine are amazing. Make magnets, make stickers, and laminate with no heat! Simple design means no batteries, no need to plug in, just grab it and go. This has been great for craft projects with kids, scrapbooking, and protecting keepsakes. As long as you are working with flat, smooth items, it works consistently well.Cons;Cartridges are expensive, so use a coupon when possible.Fabric appliques didn't work, in that fabric items didn't stick well, and the thickness of the fabric caused material to wrinkle.The magnet cartridge laminates the front of the item, and puts sticky thin magnetic material on the back of the item as it goes through the roller. When making magnets, I found the magnetic material too thin- and sometimes because it is so thin, it isn't powerful enough...

Huge time saver when scrapbooking
This machine really cuts down on the time it takes to scrapbook. I take the pictures and the backing papers and run them through the machine before I even cut them to size. Then all I have to do is cut and paste onto the page. It really saves time and mess. The adhesive is great quality and really holds up over time.If you buy the special cartridges, this machine can also produce magnets, iron on decals, and re-positionable stickers (which is nice when you place the sticker down crooked).The machine is lightweight, easy to use, and portable. No plugging in or batteries.Definitely worth the money

The Expression is an awesome machine! I have no cons about the machine itself. About the cutting mat, if it's too sticky, press a clean t-shirt down on the mat & peel it up to remove some stickiness. Simply pressing your clean hands on the mat will also remove excess stickiness and woks just as well. If the mat has lost stickiness, wash thoroughly with dish soap (Goo Gone might be needed) and dry thoroughly. Spray with Krylon Easy-Tack, let the Krylon dry thoroughly and, if needed, press & peel a clean t-shirt (or hands) to remove excess stickiness. Use a lint roller after cutting especially "linty" paper and after each session with your Cricut. The mats will last a really, really long time this way.I'm sure Provo Craft does not recommend doing anything other than buying new mats, but those who've been using the Cricut since the beginning have found ways to work around the mat issue.There are also software programs that are compatible with the Cricut...

Expression vs. SliceThere is no comparison - if you can only get 1 machine get the expression - it's worth the extra money...why?I have the Slice - that was my first machine (I got it 2 weeks ago) only because it had the designs I wanted (tags) and also had some cool accessories and it's my first die cut machine. You have to hold it down to use it, there aren't that many cartridges and if you wait for sales - they are both about the same $. If you need a machine to cut a couple of things here and there and go for the slice. Love this product, but not the pricetag
I first used the Cricut Expression cutting machine at a weekend scrapbooking retreat. My friend had recently purchased one and brought it along with several cartridges. I already have a sizzix with a few alphabets and other dies.The Cricut is SOOOO much faster to use than the sizzix. And the versatility you get by being able to choose any size (from about.5" to 11.75" in .25" increments) is amazing. It really opens a whole new world of possibilities. Most cartridges also have alternate versions of the alphabets as well such as italic, bold, tall, etc. Or even being able to place the text inside a tag or other object. Most cartridges also allow you to create a shadow of the letter with a different color for matting purposes wich really adds depth to the scrapbook page.There are a few cons. First being the price, not only is the machine itself VERY pricey, each cartridge will run between 60 and 90 dollars pre-tax/shipping. This makes each new phont or...
