The Perfect Solution
This DSLR Baseplate is such a simple, elegant, and perfect solution for installing your DSLR camera onto your full-size camera rig (15mm rods/60mm spacing). I'm using this new DSLR Baseplate with my Canon 7D, along with a redrock follow focus, matte box, and shoulder mounted rig... and I couldn't be happier with how well it all works together.This baseplate matches the extremely small footprint these DSLR's have compared to a 'standard' video camera. As many of you know, this small footprint causes quite a challenge when it comes to using your follow focus, especially with a small lens like a 50mm. I have yet to find a baseplate that doesn't extend out past the base of my Canon 7D. Well, until now.It also raises the camera to the perfect height to use with a follow focus and a matte box (perfect height assuming you don't use a battery grip attached to the bottom of your DSLR). Great product, but may not be suitable for Glidecam users.
Just wanted to provide a compatibility warning to users considering purchasing this QR Plate for their Glidecams. The base of the QR Plate is not flat, so it will not lay flat against the Glidecam's camera base. If you look at the customer uploaded pictures carefully, you can see that the safety latch extends below the base of the plate.But it works great on a regular tripod and Manfrotto's products are meant to last a life time.

Solid and Extremely Well Made
Very well made. I have used it several times now and have had no problems. Makes it so much easier to use the tripod. I have used it with a D80 with a Tamron 18-270 zoom lens attached and it handled it easily. Highly recommend this produt to others

Well built but won't fit all tripods as advertised
It seemed like such a simple plan - add a quick release plate to my venerable Tiltall tripod's 2 & 7/8th inch diameter camera mounting surface. Unfortunately,the base of the Manfrotto's quick release lever extends approximately 1/8th of an inch downward about 1 & 1/8th inches from the center of the bottom plate. This makes it impossible for the bottom plate to lay flat against my tripod's mounting surface.The ad copy's assurance that this device allows you to "Add a quick release system to any tripod or monopod" turns out not to be true.That said, it's a well made little gizmo and looks like would make the perfect addition to a different (perhaps, newer) tripod.

A great start to complete rail system
After buying a Canon 7D and knowing that it has some pretty powerful video abilities, I had to start exploring the video side of this camera. The only problem with DSLRs is that they are designed first as still cameras. As a video camera without any type of support, they are difficult at best. It's just hard to hand hold these cameras and get any type of decent shots.That's why I bought this rail system. I can immediately mount it on a tripod and start right away getting the type of shots I wanted. The follow focus system is very well built and doesn't need two or three different size rings for different lenses like some of the more expensive rigs out there. The DP500 follow focus simply works on each and everyone of my lenses. From my 24-70L all the way down to my plastic, 50mm.And it's expandable too! great for the price
I have been shooting video since 1985 and have kept up with the advancements in video to stay in business, some companies thing that they can charge you thousands of dollars for a few pieces of aluminum and a base place. ARE THEY CRAZY!The EZFoto rail system is one of a few devices that are made with quality materials, they are solid and very functional....that said i have used this on a Panasonic AF100 without any issues, i used it on a Sony A77 with several lenses and also with minimal issues. no need to buy a system like a Chroziel and spend $2 or $3k on a system you can get for under $200.00.I have both the Chroziel and the EZFoto and every camera assist i show this to on a shoot are sold on it. the only issue i do not like with this system is the ribbons locks, they are a bit large and sometimes they come into play when doing a focus. a little adjustment and your fine but still a bit of a pain in the ass. the other thing is no website to show you other...

Great for minimal gear
This back pack is perfect for dslrs with minimal gear. i can carry my nikon d80 with 18-200mm lens on it plus room for my flash and one other lens. If i move things around I could carry another lens. I also have the accessory kit sqeezed in there and it is a bit snug. I have used the kit a few times and it does come in handy.When carrying the back pack on my back and the front clip secured it fits very comfortably and off my back so hiking and other walking is very comfortable. there are straps that you can get for it to attach the tripod to it but i have not done this yet.The upper compartment of the back pack is ok if you want to carry something such as a lunch or towel and there is a compartment that can hold my filters and such. It all works but is a bit awkward....I guess I'm still searching for the perfect bag but I have not found it yet.... I'm out growing this one...If you plan to add equipment you may want to think about getting something...

Diminutive DSLR Domicile
I threw the cleaning kit in the trash as soon as it arrived. The tripod I used in the field where I knew it would quickly be destroyed. It was included in the package so no great loss there. The bag, however was disappointing.I read the reviews, and they all say you could fit a jacket or assorted goodies in the top compartment along with your DSLR in the bottom compartment. Wow. I could not force a jacket into the top compartment and I tried! I am 6'3" tall so maybe my jacket is larger than most? Dunno, don't care. My camera barely fit either.If you are a beginner, with the kit lens and no plans of upgrading, then this is the bag for you. It does not give off the expensive camera inside vibe and is actually not bad to wear around for a while. Like another reviewer mentioned, I am still on the hunt for the perfect bag. This one is not it.All that aside, it was not a bad price and the build quality was excellent. It was just not what I needed.
