2012 Guide to Literary Agents
Whether you write fiction or nonfiction, the is an essential writers' tool to help get your manuscript past the slush pile and into the hands of a reputable literary agent. This trusted annual reference, now in its 21st edition and edited by Writer's Digest Books editor Chuck Sambuchino, spells out what agents expect from a query letter, synopsis, book proposal, opening lines, and more.Last weekend I attended the Hampton Roads Writers' Third Annual Writers' Conference in Virginia Beach, VA where Mr. Sambuchino facilitated an in-depth workshop entitled EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT AGENTS. Most Thorough Source of Literary Agents on the Planet!
I have several years' of this publication, and I pick up a new one each year. The latest is as grand as I expected, to include such advice as "How Not to Start Your Book" and "Agent and Self-Publishing," both so appropriate in these days of fast-slinging publication. There's even a separate part on screenplays. It's a must-have if you have any inkling of a need to find an agent, or even if you are just wondering whether they fit into your plan. Chuck Sambuchino has done it again, and the 2012 Guide to Literary Agents is a worthy purchase for any serious writer.

Well organized! This saved me loads of time.
I have several different books featuring literary agent listings. Mr. Sambuchino's book streamlined the time it took for me to research agents who would be most interested in my book. How wonderful it was to not to have to read every single agent write up! It also provided valuable information such as if they are AAR members. With the query process so cumbersome, I appreciated that this author respected that my time was important as well.
