Absolutely necessary!
So you pulled the trigger on the big boy of blow up pools! You will LOVE this pool. IF you splurge a little more and invest in this larger pump. Clean water begins and ends with your pool pump and it must, MUST, be able to handle the 5000 gallons of water your 16 or 18 x 4ft piece of hillbilly heaven has in it. The worst thing in the world would be to spend all that money and time putting your pool up only to end up with cloudy water. I literally sleep well because I know my pump is doing it's thing. On a side note, if you're able to splurge even further, I HIGHLY recommend the salt water systems as well. How nice it is to hardly ever add chemicals to the pool, have absolutely NO chlorine smell or taste and come out actually feeling clean! Again, absolutely worth the extra bit of cost! Better than easy and simple set!
We have the 12'X 36", which is almost the same size, and are extremely pleased with it. It is a lot of pool for the money!The exterior white pipes are a sturdy metal that interlock with each other and slip through a very strong vinyl casing around the top of the heavy vinyl blue pool itself. Since we already had a level spot from previous pools, it took only an hour or so, for my children to assemble it themselves, with their 14 yr. old brother. As many people have stressed on other pool reviews, YOU MUST MUST have a level site and this can take lots of work, so don't expect to just open it and start assembling. Once the pool was filled with water, I was surprised by how much more solid it seemed than our previous Easy set and simple set pools had been. It's like there's some kind of dynamic balance between the metal frame and the heavy vinyl pool wall and all the water. My son insists it is superior to our old pools. An important note is that this pool is truly 12 feet...

Good for the money-small issues.
The size is a bit deceiving. The pool measures just over 14.5 feet, not 15 as advertised. Somewhere it's mentioned that water level is 42" so don't think that your getting 48". I knew about the water level but the diameter was a surprise. I ordered a 15' solar cover and wondered why it was too big. I got took the tape measure to the pool and found out why. These size issues don't really bother my but it should be noted more clearly on box.Yes the ladder is flimsy but usable. I cut a couple of boards and put them at the top for a platform, it's a good place for the kids to sit and ladder is sturdier. I'm 280 lbs. and have not problem as long as I'm careful.One thing that did make me frown a bit was the pinhole leak that I discovered after filling the pool. Brand new and a leak? Ohhh well that's Chinese quality I guess. They include a repair kit that has some vinyl but NO Glue! I fixed it by taking a small amount of bathroom caulk and putting on the inside of the...

Sturdy and durable!
This pool is fantastic. I had two other wet set models but had problems with leveling and the sides crashing in when a few kids get rowdy. The metal frame is very strong and holds up well even if your ground has a slight slant. I found it very easy to put up (about an hour). The filter could be better but it does the trick. My son and I are in the pool daily and love it!
