Works well with Windows 7 64 for searchable PDF
The Kodak i2400 and its A4 flatbed are attached to a Dell M4500 laptop Windows 7 64 computer. Both i2400 and A4 flatbed work great.OPERATION: Excellent. I use the i2400 to scan single-sided 8.5"x11" color and black & white documents to searchable PDF format for my business. They work perfectly. There are i2xxx-series Kodak scanners with more features and capacity, the i2400 seems to be the basic i2xxx-series unit and it is the least expensive.I have low volume, but need a scanner that scans to searchable PDF format directly and easily. The i2400 produces the searchable PDF file automatically when the start-scan button is pushed.Searchable PDF is a PDF format that I use for two purposes not available in a regular PDF document without the additional step of OCR conversion or retyping the PDF document.First, I often need to quote a paragraph from a scanned PDF document in a report or email I write to a client. Fast + easy + reliable
We set this scanner up in no time and everyone on the office network was using it right away and commenting on how fast it works...someone even nicknamed it "Speedy".This is our 3rd Kodak document scanner (mostly scanning to .pdf format) and these machines have been workhorses. Each time we add a newer version to the network it is much faster than the previous generation. Our scanner from 3 generations ago is still working in a small workgroup. Would highly recommend.

I dread calling any company for return support because it usually is such a tortured experience...(Ever tried calling SanDisk for product support?) Fast, fast, fast!
I bought this card for my Canon T1i. The card I had been using before ordering this one was a Kingston Class 6 micro sd card and it worked well enough for the type of shooting I did. Class 6 was the card speed that Canon recommended when I bought my T1i (Class 10 cards were not yet available) and it seemed fast enough for the way I used my camera - isolated single photos taken at Medium (8 MP) or Large (15 MP) jpg settings and 1280 x 720 video. And while I ocassionally took continuous photos, I had never much exceeded 5-10 photos in a row and had never run into a problem with my Class 6 card.When I first saw the Class 10 cards I did some experiments with my camera. How many continuous Large photos could I take before the camera slowed down? It turned out to be about 30. And how many RAW photos could I take before the camera slowed down? Fast!
I purchased this for use with my new Canon T2i. I use it primarily for shooting full resolution 1080p video, although I shoot stills as well.The camera choked on the class 4 chip that I originally purchased, but with this one, it is amazing. I can shoot rapidfire 18 megapixel stills (I've tested it up to 30+ shots in a row), and there is no lag. I've never had an error when shooting hi-def video.Highly recommended! I'm buying another one.

Great cartridge, great price, great quality.
The Kodax 10XL is comparable to the Kodak 10B ink Cartridge. One thing to note is that it holds about 70% more ink, but also costs 70% more. You are not saving money by buying this, but according to Kodak, if you would like to replace your ink less, than this is for you. I find a better value in the combo pack, the 10B/10C. But if you print a lot of text/b&w documents, then this is for you.

There's more to ink cartridges than meets the eye.
UPDATE 10/2010 - AMAZON quits selling $17 ink msrp cartridge from kodak and farms it out - check your nearby office supply store for better pricing - msrp on this item is 17 bucks from kodak but the seller right now is charging a premium - if it returns to being sold by amazon like before it should be priced at 17 bucks because kodak is very picky about ink price. REVIEW FOLLOWS NOW.Printer inks are NOT all the same. Yes, they look similar - little black boxes that eventually run dry and you gotta buy another one. But the ink inside can be run of the mill DYE based inks [frequently used on refill kits], or specially engineered PIGMENT inks. If you want the skinny just google (dye vs pigment inks) and there are more opinions, white papers, chem engineer's Ph.D thesis, and best of all - Manufacturer's "BUY ME" pdfs. I own just two FULLY pigment based printers (the Kodak I reviewed for Amazon's vine - their entry level combo scanner / printer) and an HP designjet Z3200ps...

Kodak printer Ink
Order process was good. Everything shipped as promised. This cartridge lasts longer than the original. I haven't used a single cartridge yet. The Kodak printer costs me less per print than the cannon I have. Both work well.

black ink- ohhh ahhhh
I hate OEM inks. Even these super savers are ridiculously expensive for what they are. Here we have some black ink. It comes out black. It doesn't last long enough, but none of them do. It's less expensive than other brands, but still WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY overpriced! It's not particularly dark, and it isn't immune to clogging if it's not used frequently, but it is better than the knock off brands you can buy for 1/3rd the price and then deal with the frustration of constant clogs and going through 10 cleaning cycles in order to use them. Printer ink is a necessary evil if you want to print your own photos. If you just need color prints get rid of your inkjet and get a color laser (research cost per print before you buy). If you just need black and white- man forget this nonsense and get a old brother laser with $10 toner that lasts 5000 prints and prints at great quality and hyper speed. If you're using this in an office environment that gets a lot of use- you're in the wrong...

Works great, great quality photos
Colors are very vibrant and display true color. I had to print pictures for a new passport, and rather than driving all over the place, I took my self portrait, put the memory card in the card slot of the printer and printed off the "head shot". Certainly a whole lot cheaper than paying for the passport photos.

Kodak cheats
Kodak cheats its printer users by running a print-head clean, which uses both black and color ink, after every print job. What does this mean to the end user? Lots of wasted ink.I have owned my Kodak AiO printer for a couple of years, and it has been a dependable printer. In the course of those 2 years I've replaced both the black and color ink cartridges 5 times apiece. I have never printed a color document with this printer --- it's used only for printing black & white invoices and receipts. Still, my color ink cartridges run out at almost the exact same time as my black ink cartridges (usually within one or 2 printed pages). Kodak ink prices are very reasonable, but by forcing their printers to waste ink after each print, they ensure that you will be buying twice as much ink as you use. NOT PERFECT BUT TRULY GREAT
As a mechanical engineer I particularly appreciate good design. This camera is loaded with it. It can be used easily as a "point and shoot" camera, or maually by a more experienced photographer.The 30X OPTICAL zoom lens is spectacular. Sure, it might not be quite up to SLR standards, but the pictures I get while SLR owners are struggling changing lenses make a big difference. I have been taking photos for decades, and virtually any lens with the name Schneider has always been a good one.Important to me, since I take lots of photos of kids and animals, is the short time between shutter push and the photo being taken. It adapts well to changing situations.Many cameras have no eyepiece viewer, and in bright sunlight can hardly be used because the viewing screen appears so dim. Not so with this camera. A bargain superzoom
Low light pics are really amazing with this camera. I took a pic in my family room taken at 8:30 at night in smart mode with no flash and the room lit by only the light coming through the doorway from the kitchen and the TV. While I realize you wouldn't want to take pics of people at the shutter speed selected by smart mode (.3), the pic came out with the room appearing as though it was 2 pm on a sunny day.Some reviews have said you can't save settings when you shut off the camera but that is not completely true. If you shoot in PASM modes it will save your settings in those modes even if you switch modes or shut off the camera. While it may not save settings in "scenes" and special features (like shooting fireworks or sunsets) those are preset anyway as soon as you dial to them.I am no photo expert but the menus seem very intuitive and easy to navigate.The main reason I bought this camera is that it gives me a lot of versatility with its zoom and...

Super fun, feature-rich camera - with a few disappointments
A little background: I have been using Kodak's high-end EasyShares since 2002. I got the EasyShare Max z990 on April 11, 2011. I have been putting this camera to the test for 18 days.There are a lot of things I love about my z990. But I have had enough disappointments to make me wonder what Kodak was thinking, and to question if this camera is worth its original $300+ price tag.My first z990 was very buggy. It kept becoming unresponsive for several seconds or even freezing up. It helped to reformat the SD card and internal memory and to reset the camera. But I ended up having to get a replacement. My new z990 works much better!Things I love:* Best low-light no-flash pictures I have EVER seen from a digital camera!* Very nice image quality.* 1080p video! ... Good image quality. Acceptable sound quality.* Snap pictures WHILE recording a video! They are lowish quality, but still decent enough for a 4x6 or maybe even a 5x7...
