An excellent little trimmer.
With a $25 gift certificate I got this for less than $10. It was well worth it. I am trying my best to get rid of needless gas motors because two ATVs, a lawn tractor and a mower is more than enough to maintain. I also wanted something that was very light so my wife could use it.I have 3/4 of an acre of lawn and don't mind using cords to get where I need to. This little trimmer does everything it should. I easily trim around my raised garden beds and this unit is very good for precise trimming around flower beds, etc. The line feed is very easy to use.I had no issues with shipping, the unit worked and still does. The best part is the local Home Depot had spare line reels for it. Try that with my old Home Lite gas trimmer. It was impossible to find parts.I'm very happy with this purchase.

No more barbers
One of the rare times a product does what it's supposed to do. I had been using a product for the past 45 years but it required a special blade and up to 5 years ago I had been able to get them but the company went out of business and I had to use something else that was OK but didn't do the job as well. Despair set in until I ordered the Seki Haircutter which uses ordinary double edge blades. It works and it looks like it will last a long time, probably longer than me.

Easy to use and works
Years ago, I had a little device called a hair wiz. It wasn't as fancy as the Seki edge but I loved it! It's an easy way to cut your own hair (and save on visits to the beauty salon). Just be careful you don't get get carried away! I cut my hair so short one time (just combing thru it and wasn't paying attention) that my mom made me buy a wig before she would go out with me! :)It's a good price and was shipped promptly.

Over the years I've used many Black & Decker products. Everything from power tools to lawn care equipment, most are as advertised and effectively do the job just as good as the higher priced competition. I haven't used a gas powered tool in over 12 years now. I've also gone the electric route as well. My eleven year old 18 volt B&D trimmer has more then proved itself and finally was put out to pasture. I'm still surprised that I got that much running time from the two 18 volt batteries that came with the unit. For quick and easy trimming, its been a capable tool. That said, I picked up the Black & Decker LST220 Grasshog Trimmer at my local hardware store last weekend.After a quick inventory, I scanned over the brief instructions. Good for trimming, okay for edging, short battery life
This is my first cordless electric trimmer. Despite of mediocre reviews at consumer reports I decided to try this one, after yet another half hour on my knees in the garage trying to start my diva-esque 3-year-old 2-cycle gas engine trimmer..Shipping was slow, packing the worst I've ever seen from Amazon! But it worked, and it was fairly easy to put the parts together. I used it twice now, so here is my impression:Sleek looks, length is adjustable (but barely enough for me, and I am only 6ft tall), charging really takes 8 hours for each battery (!), and the trimmer runs between 10 and 12 minutes with a fully charged battery - less if you are edging stubborn St Augustine grass.It is louder than I expected, but still much better than a gas engine trimmer.Trimming:The line is a little thinner (.65) compared to my Ryobi gas trimmer (.80), the diameter of the cutting area is a lot smaller and it uses only one line instead of two, so it takes a little longer to...

LIGHTWEIGHT BUT SHORT RUN TIME
I bought this product from my local "bigbox" store a month ago so thought I would drop a review here anyway. The LST220 came with two 20volt lithium ion batteries, a charger, and a leaf blower. I am not the least big mechanically inclined, but I put this wonder together in a few minutes. Batteries each take a full 8 hours to charge, which is a drawback for me, since they only gave me 20 minutes of weeding on each battery, and take 8 hours to charge each one. This unit's height can be adjusted with the quick easy turn of a collar, and the (.065) line is automatic--so no more bump & feed! It is so lightweight and easy to use, and I really do love the fact that I don't have to mess with pulling that nasty string a dozen times on a smelly gas-powered trimmer any more. With this model, all you do is push a button! The only cons would be that the battery lasts me 20 minutes of run time, so I get to do about 35-40 minutes total weed whacking using two batteries. Quite honestly, I can't stand...

Excellent for small shop
I have a small one man shop and love this bander. I have owned a Brandt 20k bander in the past, and while this doesn't do all the Brandt did it is very good for preglued banding. You can do many shapes because of its single roller and portability and straight edges. After using it for a while I find it very easy to adjust for different thickness materials. I made a stand for it that I mounted to the side of my bench. It is simply a shelf long enough for it with a 2 1/2" x 3/4" plywood rip mounted on edge in the middle. I place the bander on it like I am going to band the plywood. It holds it up and will keep it from being tipped over. I have applied thousands of feet of edgeband with it and find it very useful, much faster than most other ways. And, it takes up a lot less room than my Brandt did. There are a few negatives, you can't band anything less than about 4 1/2" without figuring another way to use it. I had a lot of narrow pieces to do for one job and mounted it sideways on a...

Great machine for the cost
I have a small cabinet shop. Couldn't afford a used $5000 hot pot machine, so I tried one of these. It took about 30 minutes to adjust, probably coulnd have been 10 minute if I bought the 7/8" banding. But I got it right and man is this fast. 3/4" banding goes on perfectly straight. You can move this faster than you want, I use low power most of the time. I'd say you can do a 4 foot edge in 15 to 20 seconds. All in all a very good machine, not like the $20,000 power feed, trim shave models, but for a small shop more than adequate.

Very nice tool for applying preglued edge banding. I couldn't afford $35,000 for an entry level gluepot edgebander for my cabinet shop at start up 8 months ago. And I didnt want to use the trusty old iron for all my banding.I only have 4 small concerns with it.It is kind of complex to set up, but once you do, adjusting from 23/32 to 3/4 inch wide panels are relatively easy.It sometimes does not do a good job sticking the first inch of banding and sometimes the last inch on a panel. You need to have a hot clothes iron laying around to make sure the it's really down. I think it may be a skill problem on my part that a few hundred feet more edgebanding experience may improve.It is also really easy to burn the wood if you don't keep it moving. One thing I like is that the heat gun has a sheet metal duck bill that directs the hot air directly between the glue and the panels edge where they meet. Excellent clippers for heavy dog fur
We bought these clippers to trim our long haired German Shepherd Dog. She had a very thick under coat. The clippers worked great. I had no previous training using clippers, so I was a bit nervous about accidentally cutting her. That was never a problem at all. The clippers took a bit of practice to get used to, but once I got the feel of it I was confident. I bought a #7 blade and that's what we used for her heavy coat. I also bought a can of the Andis Cool Care Plus spray. The blade does get hot while clipping, the spray helped to cool it down so we could continue in one session.The amazing thing about these clippers is that they seem so solidly built. They are not very noisy at all. Actually, my husband and I laugh because these animal clippers are much better than the "human" ones they use on him when he gets a haircut. :)

Like a hot knife through butter!
I have a black, long-hair, dauschound-spaniel mix (Macy) that has an undercoat so thick I can hardley see her skin. My husband got a pair of Oster clippers at Wal-Mart and they worked fine on our Bicha-Poo who has fine, short hair. But on Macy? They barley cut, they clogged easily as I drug the clipper along her coat and were basically useless. We live in South Texas and in this 100+ degree heat, the poor thing was miserable. So I sprung for the Andis after reading good reviews. I bought them from KV Vet Supply off Amazon and they were a great seller. Everything arrived quickly and the order was complete. These clippers aren't cheap, but a trip to the groomer for both dogs is around $100 so I figure they will pay for themselves in less than two clippings. Poor Macy! As soon as they arrived, I have to play with them of course. So I get a hold of her and I was totally unprepared for how they were going to perform. Wow! Amazing! I have a chow chow...
I have a chow chow who is prone to skin allergies and matting. She has had hot spots and chewed away hair so much we started taking her to the groomers to be shaved down. I had tried other clippers and they couldn't get through the thick under coat. These clippers had my whole chow chow cut in an hour and a half with her full coat (with several resting breaks for my baby). They get a bit warm but nothing near what those cheaper clippers get to and they cool off extremely quickly. I will probably get a longer guard later but the one that came with it doesn't go all the way to the skin, which i prefer. I'm sure if i can cut a chow chow with them, they'll tackle any job. A+++! Worth every penny!
