Very basic and works well
I bought this ADC model and a friend of mine bought the prestige model. The prestige has a nicer cuff (satin material), but the hose connection to the pump on the prestige comes loose easily. However, the satin cuff does make for more comfort and is more flexible, allowing one to fold the cuff to see the gage better; where as the ADC model's cuff is very stiff and hard to bend.

Cross tested this with another and it comes out accurate. It is billed as a portable, but it seems a little big for travel. I thought it would be smaller. The readout part of the monitor of it is 8.5" long, and about 2.5" in diameter. Appears to be built to last. Comes with a nice travel pouch. Top to learn more
BEST EVER
I have been using blood pressure monitors for over 12 years and compared to others I have been using this one is FAR better.... here is why: (1) The construction quality is excellent... beautifully made (2) It is extremely quiet, almost in-audible compared to others I have used (3) The cuff design is unusual and a huge improvement over the conventional cuff design on other units... this one has a flexible shaped insert inside the inflatable cuff that forms a "tube" shape that makes the cuff very easy to slide over your arm and to easily wrap the Velcro to hold it in place. I eventually learned that I could leave the Velcro "closed" and simply slide the cuff off after use and easily slide it back on for a new measurement without opening the Velcro.(4) Yes, is is made in China BUT in a PANASONIC factory. (5) I have not yet compared the readings to those in my doctors office but likely it will be very close since it is ~ same as the older very noisy one I have been using that does... Top to learn more

Tiny and well designed
This Panasonic blood pressure monitor is the tiniest I've seen, but it does the job just fine. It comes with a manual, a set of batteries and a soft cloth carry bag (a power adapter is available separately). The display is large and easy to read. Used this cuff through nursing school and now on the job
I purchased this purple BP cuff while I was a student in nursing school so I could practice doing blood pressures on my own before I went to any actual clinical settings. This particular cuff has proven to be both accurate and reliable. Now that I'm a nurse, I use my purple cuff when I can't use my Panasonic digital wrist blood pressure cuff. Many digital wrist BP cuffs require the patient to bring his or her wrist to heart level AND stay quite still for an accurate reading. A digital wrist BP cuff, although usually VERY convenient, just doesn't always work as well on patients with Parkinsons, Alzheimers, gigantic wrists ect... Simple but accurate; technique matters
I am a clinical pharmacist and I bought this primarily to show my patients how to check their blood pressure (BP) at home. I have seen quite a few BP machines my patients use and I usually check the machine readings against my own which is done manually. The HEM-712C is one that is inexpensive but gives accurate readings. Do keep in mind that the literature suggests that most machines made after 2000 should be accurate and technique matters more:1) Know how to use your machine. Read the manual.2) Sit down for a least 5 minutes before checking your BP3) Do not talk while checking BP. The sensor can pick up the vibration4) When you are have a full stomach or need to go to the restroom, readings are not accurate5) Do not wear tight clothing or cross your legs when checking BP(Note: wrist and finger BP machine are generally not as accurate) Top to learn more

Accurate, batteries last a long time
This cuff is easy to use, the readings appear to be accurate (they jibe with readings in the doctor's office), and the batteries are lasting longer than I expected. Inflation is somewhat noisy, so you may want to close your office door if you're measuring your BP at work. Cuffs are transferable between OMRON products; the large cuff from my manual bp monitor works just fine on this battery-powered monitor. Also, somewhat to my surprise, the action of manually inflating the cuff does not seem to affect readings; the numbers are similar between both monitors. The cuff automatically inflates to 170 mmHG; if it senses that it needs to go higher, it will continue to inflate to 210 mmHG, and you can force it to go even higher if your systolic pressure is really high. No frills, except for a memory bank that retains 14 readings (blood pressure, pulse). Highly recommended. Top to learn more

To take an accurate reading, first position the green marker directly over the artery on the inside of your arm.
Next, place your arm on a table so the cuff is positioned at the same level as your heart.
Instructions for Upper Arm Blood Pressure Monitors There are several easy steps to taking your blood pressure with this monitor. First of all, avoid eating, smoking, and exercising for at least 30 minutes before taking a measurement. Remove tight-fitting clothing from your upper arm, and sit in a chair with your feet flat on the floor. Slide your left arm through the cuff and position the cuff approximately 0.5-inches above the elbow. On the cuff you'll notice a green marker; position this marker directly over the artery on the inside of your arm. Next, secure the cuff with the Velcro material. The cuff should make direct contact with your skin, but you should be able to easily fit your index finger between the cuff and your arm.
Place your arm on a table so that the cuff is positioned at the same level as your heart. Rest comfortably in a relaxed environment for at least 15 minutes prior to taking your blood pressure measurement. Once you feel relaxed, simply press the start button and remain still. The cuff will begin to inflate and numbers will appear on the display as the heart symbol flashes. When the measurement is complete, the cuff will deflate, and your blood pressure and pulse rate will display on the screen. If you need to stop the measurement at any time, simply press the on/off button and the monitor will immediately deflate. And remember, always consult your physician for specific information about your blood pressure.

Very nice quality and more precise than the digital ones
I had a couple of the digital blood pressure machines, but did not find them to be very accurate. My doctor suggested my getting the cuff and an inexpensive stethoscope which is needed.
