I made my homework and read reviews about all the baby monitor's I found, before picked this one. I had a doubt because of unknown producer. But now, after two weeks of this product use, I'm happy with my choice.I mounted the camera over baby's crib. So when we are watching TV in a basement, or on a kitchen etc. we always know how is our baby doing. When baby wakes up, the monitor wakes up too, and you can see and hear your baby.Pros:- clear video, no interference with wi-fi;- clear voice (hence it wakes up with a click);- internal rechargeable battery in both the camera and the monitor;- can be powered from AC adapters (2 included) and even USB (I don't USB, but good option; read reviews of alternative products - some of them could be AC-powered too, but you should remove batteries every time);- zoom (I don't use it ether);- small and lightweight.Cons:- one camera (now I don't need the second, but may be in the future, on... We've owned this ZOpid system (with one additional camera) for about five months now, and we couldn't be much happier.I first became acquainted with video baby monitors when our daughter was very young. We purchased a monitor so we could see her, and it *did* work, but not as well as we would have liked. There was always interference from other devices, be they other baby monitors in the neighborhood, our own wireless network, or even local radio stations. (Seriously; we could hear the radio sometimes.) Still, because of the price, we bought a second one when our son came along, which left us with two monitors on my bedside table while compounding the aforementioned problems.Fast forward a few years: we finally decided that if we're going to do this, we need to do it right. Best baby product purchase I've made yet!
I bought the ZOpid Digital Video Baby Monitor a few weeks before my baby was born. He is now 6 months old and this product has been the BEST purchase I've made. I spent hours on Amazon researching which video monitor to buy before choosing this one. Save yourself some time, and just buy this one! Here are the things I love about it most:- It's a digital monitor so there's no interference with other baby monitors in the neighborhood. It was worth the extra money to me to know that my sleeping baby would not show up on other people's video monitors.- Some video monitors out there reported interference with wireless internet connections. In my household, we have 3 Tivos, 3 video game systems, 2 computers and 2 iphones that all use wireless internet. We have had absolutely no issues with the internet speed or internet connection. Great Camera for the price
I would recommend this camera to anybody that is looking for a decent baby monitoring device.First, a history of why I purchased this camera. I purchased this camera after owning the Summer Infant Video Monitoring Camera for 2 years. The issue I had with the Summer Infant was that my downstairs neighbor had the same camera. The Summer Infant has 2 channels. My baby was on channel A and theirs was on channel B. There would sometimes be interference on the device and many times, while trying to sleep, I would hear the camera cackle, pop, and make noises. Also, we just had another baby and I wanted to purchase another camera so that I could monitor both babies... This was now an issue as I only could use one channel, since my neighbor was using the other. If I even tried to use the channel they were on, I would not be able to see anything due to tons of interference. So these were my big issues with the Summer Infant:1.) The digital monitor is far superior to the old analog monitor we used with my first child. I received a new monitor as well as new firmware on both cameras and monitor. Then, about a year and a half into our ownership of the Safety 1st camera, the display started having issues, it would turn different colors, and we spent months banging on the unit to try to get the image just right. (The Safety 1st Unit, had a huge pulsating green on/off button on the front of the camera, and we had to cover half the camera with black electrical tape to stop it from being distracting at night. However, the purpose of this monitor is to see if the baby is awake, not to watch HDTV. There is no popping or other noise in the audio, and the picture quality is far superior without the graininess and distortions of the old analog monitor. With this monitor we plug it in when the baby is awake and walk around with it while she naps. I would recommend this monitor to a friend especially with a baby. I like the fact that the unit can be updated with firmware if need be. Best of all ZOpid came with LITHIUM ion rechargable battery, finally a company that did not cheap out on the battery. The “night vision” works great and we can see clearly. The display is HUGE, and my kids are so clear on the camera at night. I emailed ZOpid with a camera phone pic of the issue and they shipped a replacement receiver in advance with no credit card hold and a pre-paid return label.
